Council Information

Red Lodge  Parish Council, is a tier of local government for the parish of Red Lodge  and is committed to working together with the residents of Red Lodge  for the benefit of the parish. It is a statutory body and has wide ranging powers and interests, one of which is to ensure that any development within the parish complies with the current Forest Heath District Council Local Development Framework and the County Council Structure Plan.

It acts a focus for action and lobbying on:

- housing
- roads
- parish facilities
- the environment and
- other issues that may arise.

The Council has  capacity for 9  elected councillors and 5 members of staff. Full Council Meetings are held monthly on the  last Tuesday of designated months.  Notice of meetings are posted on the notice boards in the village and the website  and are open for all village residents to attend.  

The Council also facilitates the open Annual Parish meeting,  usually in April or May.

Projects undertaken to date include:

The Council has undertaken a number of projects:

  • Opening of new Sports Pavilion in January 2011
  • Village Sign completed in June 2011
  • Installation of new benches around the village and picnic benches on the Sports Field completed in Summer 2011
  • New noticeboards at the Sports Pavilion and Hundred Acre Way completed in Summer 2011
  • Rural Path completed in December 2011
  • Solar Panels installed on the roof of the Sports Pavilion in December 2011
  • Petanque Court
  • Three items of Public Art were installed in April 2012 at the Sports Pavilion, Millennium Centre and along the Turnpike.
  • Installation of a defibrillator 2017
  • Installation of a shelter with picnic tables and benches 2018
  • Installation of an outdoor gym at the Sports Pavilion 2023
